Day two!

After a much too short night of sleep, Kelli and I were back up for a light breakfast and preparing for a short flight to the city where we would meet the kiddos. It was also the morning that we would officially meet up with the crest of the CCAI group that is here to adopt.

It went better than expected, though we half to do a bit of luggage rearranging to ensure that we wouldn't get charge for an extra bag and then some tense moments at security when they didn't understand why we had baby food we were trying to take but no babies.

It is really nice to be a part of the big group now-- people to talk to and share the experience with, but also people to look out for each other and make sure that everything gets taken off the baggage claim and onto the bus and all that jazz. Luckily, the bus ride to the hotel wasn't that long and the bus was a bit air conditioned. Living in Mississippi has helped prepare me for this heat and humidity, but it is just a bit of a different animal over here.

Once at the hotel, we had a couple of minutes to drop off our bags before we were whisked away to run errands. We went across the street to the bank to exchange money (was really storage to see a bank open on a Sunday), buy train tickets for the bullet train to Jumadian to get MeiLi's passport on Wednesday, and then a long trip to WalMart(I'll try to get some of my Walmart pictures up later today). In all, my pedometer showed that we walked over eight miles on Sunday, primarily in the heat and humidity. Kelli and I both crashed soon after arriving back in the room.
